Goodyear Excellence * – premium touring comfort and wet safetyThe Goodyear Excellence * in 245/40 R20 99Y is a passenger tyre built for premium touring comfort and wet safety. In South Africa it is a popular choice for premium-brand drivers looking for a dependable tyre at this size. Looking for this size? The Goodyear Excellence * is available as 245/40R20 – the same fitment you may see written as 245/40R20, 245 40 20. Every tyre is supplied new and can be fitted at one of our partner fitment centres or delivered nationwide. Key features & benefitsWet braking – Grooves and compound shorten wet stopping distances. Quiet ride – Pattern tuned for low cabin noise. Comfort – Flexible casing absorbs rough tar. Long wear – Even wear across the tread. Run-flat construction – Reinforced sidewall lets you keep driving up to 80 km at 80 km/h after a puncture, so a flat does not leave you stranded. Extra Load (XL) sidewall – Reinforced construction carries higher loads, suiting heavier vehicles, towing and full loads. Load index & speed rating explainedThe load index 99 means each tyre can carry up to 775 kg, so a set of four supports roughly 3,100 kg. The speed rating Y approves this tyre for sustained speeds up to 300 km/h. Y-rated tyres are approved for sustained speeds above 240 km/h. Marked XL (Extra Load), this size carries a reinforced sidewall for heavier vehicles and full loads. Marked run-flat, it can be driven on after a puncture for up to 80 km at 80 km/h.
